A memorable and massive visit to our South County studios

I was approached with an idea on how to get some members of our community to stop by our southern county and witness our daily operations here in Great Barrington. The end result was both informative and entertaining for those present as members of The Cadmus life-sharing association stopped for a quick visit and the end result turned out to be a hit for everyone involved.

Contributors Anna Pfeiffer, Deb Hertzel-Curran and Roxanne Campbell brought some of the participants to their day program, including Cindy Schuyler, Laurie Sunderland, Matt Pendergist and Iris Christenson. They asked a series of questions about our operation and I detected a curiosity factor which was a good thing for me as their interest was present and taken into account as they passed through Stockbridge Road.

With the full support of coworkers, the program steers these people towards a great independent life, as they also participate in social gatherings throughout our community. They live in beautiful residential houses across Great Barrington and the surrounding hamlets and operate within a family structure as they are aligned with other members of the NAC (the North American council which draws attention to curative education anthroposophic and social therapy).

They also have access to a high participation in the arts as well as outdoor activities such as hiking, swimming, volunteering, cooking, horticultural activities and exploring trails in the beautiful Berkshires. the possibilities are limitless

Cadmus is integrated with other LOCAL organizations, including Berkshire South Regional Community Center, Blue Rider Stables, CATA (Community Arts Access) and Special Extra Teas, Horse Works in Richmond and Off The Shelf in New Marlborough. Many of their members also attend services and are active at Christ Trinity Church in Sheffield.

Cadmus Director Joe Harris plays a key role in organizing special events and various awareness programs. To learn more about this community organization, log onto their website and LIKE their Facebook page and you can see some awesome photos of their daily diet on Instagram.

Many thanks again to ALL participants and colleagues who brightened my day by stopping by our studios to gain insight into the day-to-day operational function of a LOCAL radio station. It was such a joy to have you on board.
