MAMMOGRAMMS GO MOBILE: Joanie Abdu Comprehensive Breast Care Center’s mobile mammography unit was established to provide the most accurate prevention, early detection, diagnostic and support services in the region,

The state-of-the-art mobile unit uses the same high-quality technology and equipment to perform mammography that can be found at JACBCC.

THE YOUNGSTOWN AREA OSTOMY SUPPORT GROUP will meet Wednesday from 6-7 p.m. at the Tibbetts Wick Home Care Office, 979 Tibbetts Wick Road, Suite A, Girard and 6-7 p.m. August at the Woodland Room on the second floor of St. Elizabeth Boardman’s Hospital. Light refreshments will be served after the meetings.

ON DEMAND EXPANDS: On Demand Counseling, a division of On Demand HealthCare has expanded telehealth service and appointments are available.

ALZHEIMER FAMILY SUPPORT: Alzheimer Network Family Support Groups offer seven local meeting sites in Austintown, Boardman, Girard, Howland, Poland, Salem and Hermitage, Pennsylvania. For directions, registration and general information, call 330-788-9755. Some sites may be comprehensive, but all are provided for free.

WELLNESS CENTER PROGRAMS: The Niles Wellness Center is open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday. To register for a program or for more information, call the center at 330-349-9355 or email Chelsey Christie at [email protected]

The center is family run and welcomes all SilverSneakers, Silver and Fit and Renew Active participants. A fully equipped weight room, four-lane indoor track, basketball court and soccer field are also offered.

Through a partnership with Mercy Health and its Stepping Out program, the center offers the following classes:

• Zumba, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursdays;

• Line dancing, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesdays;

• SilverSneakers Endurance Course, 10 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays;

• Pickleball, 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday to Friday.

MVI HOSPICE CARE: Bereavement support groups are free for anyone who has lost a loved one, including a pet. Contact 330-759-9487 for more information. Sessions are held from 1 to 3 p.m. on the third Wednesday of the month at the First Presbyterian Church of Warren Fellowship Hall, 256 Mahoning Ave. NW, Warren, and 1-3 p.m. the first Wednesday of the month and 6-8 p.m. the fourth Monday of the month at Boardman Park Georgeanna Parker Administration Building, 375 Boardman Poland Road, Boardman.

ST. JOE’S AT THE MALL: St. Joe’s at Eastwood Mall hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, located adjacent to JCPenney and Kay Jewelers. All classes are open to anyone with a St. Joe’s at the Mall membership. Screenings and programs are open to the public. Some classes are registration only due to social distancing guidelines. Strong People Gym membership is $24 per month, with an initial appointment with an exercise physiologist.

Weekly exercise classes include Cardio Jam, SilverSneaker Classic and Cardio, Cardio Jam, Cardio Combo, Zumba, chair yoga, floor yoga, beginner and advanced balance class, 60-up balance class and exercises for Parkinson’s disease and movement disorders.

There will be no Lab Express screenings in June. Labs will resume in July.

• Free blood pressure screenings, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday;

• Free nutritional assessment with a dietitian on Fridays by appointment only;

• Free notarial services and living wills and durable power of attorney for health care, Wednesdays from 9 am to noon;

ADDICTION ASSISTANCE: The Trumbull County Combined Health District is urging residents to help slow the rise in overdoses in the community by taking advantage of the free Narcan in the district.

Narcan quickly reverses the effects of opioids such as heroin and fentanyl, and anyone can be trained by one of the district staff to administer lifesaving drugs and receive a free kit containing two doses.

CAREGIVER SUPPORT: The Greater Eastern Ohio Region Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association offers free Alzheimer Caregiver Support Groups. They are open to all caregivers, family members and friends of a loved one with the disease or another form of dementia.

• Howland — 7:00 p.m. second Tuesday, Howland United Methodist Church, 730 Howland Wilson Road NE.

• Warren — Third Wednesday at 10 a.m., Trumbull Regional Medical Center, 1350 E. Market St., Conference Room F, Warren.
