Kenya crush Uganda to reclaim Victoria Cup

Final round matches were reduced to a mere formality after Kenya collected the required 13.5 points on matchday two to reclaim the trophy they last held in 2018.

Kenya clinched their fourth Victoria Cup title after beating Uganda 21-5 at the close of the annual competition at Limuru Country Club on Sunday July 31, 2022.


The Kenyans thrashed Uganda 7-3 in the final round of Sunday’s singles matches to build a 14-2 margin going into Sunday’s game.


The Ugandans looked for a challenge on the final day, claiming three wins and narrowly losing three matches at hole number 18.


Local players Ebill Omolo, Sammy Mulama, Dennis Maara, John Lejirma, Daniel Kiragu, Mutahi Kibugu and Mike Karanga took wins in contrasting style while Chris Andrea, Adel Balala and Andrew Wahome lost their singles matches.
