Loans worth 270.55 crore rupees distributed to beneficiaries in Medak

Medak: Collector Medak S Harish has distributed loans of Rs 270.55 crore to beneficiaries under various government programs, including Rs 108.71 crore to Women Support Groups (SHGs).

Speaking to people at a loan mela held in Medak on Tuesday, the collector called on people to use the loans to grow in life. He also urged them to pay off loan maturities on time to help the bank grow and extend loans to others.

State Bank of India Managing Director Yogesh Chandra Sahu said the Union government also insisted that banks lend more loans to people to recover from the impact of COVID-19 . As part of their efforts, Sahu said they are running credit awareness programs through Telangana for the benefit of the people.

No less than nine government banks and eight private banks set up booths in the credit awareness program held in Medak on Tuesday. Additional collector Prathima Singh, SBI Regional Director Pankaj Kumar, AGGVB AGM Balaji Rao, NABARD AGM Cesil Timothy, Main Bank District Director Venugopal Rao and others were in attendance.
