NW CT Chamber organizes meetings, events

July 15, 10 a.m., Restaurant and Retail Peer Group. The new Restaurant & Retail Peer group will hold a monthly zoom meeting on the 3rd Thursday to give restaurants and retailers the opportunity to meet virtually and regularly to discuss the opportunities and challenges they face during this pandemic. The chair of the committee is Betsy Paynter, the regional representative of the Small Business Development Center.

July 19, 5 p.m., after hours, hosted by Sunset Meadow Vineyards. Join us for an evening of networking at Sunset Meadow Vineyards. Bring your business cards and meet new and seasoned Chamber members. Wine tastings will be available for purchase. The Chamber follows all current CDC guidelines for in-person events. July 20, 8 a.m., meeting of the insurance committee. The Insurance Committee meets on the 3rd Tuesday of the month to consider issues relating to those in the industry as well as to support the Northwest Connecticut Benefit Center and the Chamber Insurance Trust. The Benefit Center, created in 2004, enables the Chamber to market insurance products offered to members through the Chamber Insurance Trust. July 21, 8 a.m., Board of Health meeting. The Health Council, a peer group made up primarily of individuals and businesses involved in healthcare in Northwestern Connecticut, meets on the 3rd Wednesday of each month. Meetings focus on specific areas of interest including: employee recruitment and retention, workforce development, on-the-job training programs and grants, legislative updates that affect the healthcare industry, facility visits and more.
